MADONNA
CREEK RANCH
|
|
Part
of the historic Cozzolino Farms,
MADONNA CREEK
RANCH
|

|
offers a
unique opportunity to enjoy your horse
on an authentic working ranch environment.
A new private 10-horse full-care facility
conveniently located just minutes from Interstate
280 and only two miles East of downtown Half Moon
Bay, we offer large 18' x 24' mud-free pipe
paddocks with walk-in shelters, extensive field
turnouts, 2 arenas and access to almost 600 acres
of riding trails.
Whether riding alongside our fields of hay, on the
Ranch roads or on our extensive hilltop trails
that afford unparalleled views overlooking Half
Moon Bay and the Pacific Ocean,
you'll enjoy the presence of the natural world in a
truly peaceful setting.
There is nothing quite like hearing the cattle
lowing as they graze on the ranch hillsides,
or having the opportunity to observe a bobcat
hunting in the fields or our
resident Red-Tailed hawks raising their young.
Madonna Creek Ranch abuts hundreds of acres of
open-space and conservation lands which
provides for an abundance of wildlife.
At our ranch we are especially proud to be able to
offer a year-round consistent supply of
our own hay grown right on Cozzolino Farms.
You won't have to worry about your horse developing
colic due to a changing feed supply with us.
Our specialty blend of Beardless Wheat, Barley,
Oats mix and Orchard grasses feeds so well, that
most horses don't even need additional
supplementation to maintain a healthy top line.
We haven't met a horse yet that didn't love this
sweet blend of hay.
As it is grown in the salty air only two miles from
the Ocean on rich prime agricultural soil,
its flavor and nutritional content is
exceptional.
Board includes 2 x daily feeding of generous
portions.
Another valuable service we provide is our extended
turnout program.
Horses on turnout get to enjoy the benefits of
grazing and socializing with other
compatible horses in large field turnouts.
We guarantee an hour per day per horse, but try to
combine compatible horses for
herd consistency and to maximize turnout time.
Our manure management practices must abide by
strict conservation measures, and therefore we have
all horse manure removed
from the premises. We clean the run-in paddocks 1 x
daily and
our goal is a clean and well-maintained stable
environment.
We have a large tack room with ample space for tack
trunks and horse paraphernalia and
a separate area for feed storage and grain.
Our lighted arena and stables area means that you
can enjoy your horse in the after hours of a work
day,
and in the shorter daylight days of the winter
months.
We also have extended visiting hours to accommodate
your needs.
Our well-thought through stable and ranch
management guidelines ensure the safety of both you
and your horse. Our goal is that
everyone experience a sense of well-being and
happiness while at our facility.
To that end we carefully interview and select our
boarders.
Based on past experience, we have found that this
screening approach ensures for a enduring
positive stables environment for both people and
the horses in our care.
As a boarder at our facility you and your family
will enjoy the many seasonal Cozzolino Farms
experiences including the growing
and harvesting of our hay, pumpkins, flowers and
Christmas trees.
Our "4-C's Pumpkin Patch" is one of the oldest
pumpkin patches in the Bay Area!
Every year we offer pony rides, a petting zoo,
jumpy houses, and the opportunity for families
to
select their pumpkins directly from the fields in
which they were grown.
During the Christmas holiday season, you can also
purchase
your tree grown right here on our farm.
Our very own "Cozzolino Park" event site is the
perfect place to bring your family for a picnic.
Nestled beneath the redwoods and situated along
side Madonna Creek,
our full-kitchen facility
is beautiful, private and secluded.
As a boarder at Madonna Creek Ranch, you can have
the opportunity to plan your wedding,
corporate event or child's birthday
right on the farm!
Johnny and Jennifer Cozzolino, the owners of
Madonna Creek Ranch,
live on the ranch premises,
as do many other extended family members of the
Cozzolino family.
This 3rd generation Half Moon Bay ranch family
prides themselves on their reputation for excellent
business practices, kindness,
competence and standing behind their word.
Our Stables Manager, Terry Tenzing, has enjoyed a
lifetime love of horses and was the Manager of
Shamrock Ranch Stables in
Pacifica for thirteen years prior to joining
Madonna Creek Ranch. She and her daughter Olivia,
own "Friendly
Pony Parties and
Barnyard Pals",
love to go horse camping and
enjoy two horses of their own.
If a relaxing, working ranch atmosphere is what
you're seeking and you'd like to be a part of a
positive, well-run stables
environment, look no further!
